Composites

Epoxies are favourably used in composites as a basis for high performance materials, affording extraordinary impact strength, chemical resistance and low shrinkage. The right crosslinking of epoxy resins is the key challenge for tailored and optimal properties of the resulting duromers in different applications.
Epoxy-composites, cured with VESTAMIN diamines are the basis for large rotor blades for wind energy turbines and composite pipes.

The products VESTAMIN IPD and VESTAMIN TMD involve aliphatic and cycloaliphatic diamines from isophorone chemistry.

Large amounts of these products are used as a base amine for manufacturing curing agents for epoxy resin systems. They are also used as a raw material for manufacturing diisocyanates and polyamides. They are colourless liquids of low viscosity and have a weak amine odour.
